Haleek Maul & Supreme Cuts - Gully - Yours Truly

y’all should check out this performance/mini-doc from the lovely & talented folks at yours truly. keep your eyes peeled for the credits ;) i helped work on it.

did you know?: i’ve followed the nba for 10 years now

lots of people probably don’t know this, but aside from music, my other love is basketball.  i grew up with the knicks, watching their stellar 90s lineups featuring folks like patrick ewing, anthony mason, john starks, allan houston, charlie ward, and marcus camby. i cheered them on through the thick and the thin, the slumping seasons and the rowdy rivalries with the pacers and the heat. i don’t often talk about my love for the sport, because i always feel like i’m in the minority unless i’m surrounded by a bunch of male bloggers. but anyway. i haven’t written about it (i’m far more of a music writer than i am a sports writer) and don’t have any “clips” to back up this field of expertise, but have a lot to say about the team and the nba as a whole, considering i’ve followed the game for over 10 years now. ask me about the 2002 season or ask me about how the clippers are currently one of the strongest teams: i’m ready.

additionally, i played basketball for about 6 years when i was younger. i know the lingo, the positions, and when it comes down to it, the ins & outs of the game itself.

[Electronica] S O H N – The Wheel | The Music Ninja

London-born, Vienna-based musician S O H N shares “The Wheel,” a beautifully somber new song that’s flushed with lovely, cooing but pained vocals, staggering synth patterns, and a mellow ticking beat. “The Wheel” comes off an EP of the same name, due out November 5th on Aesop. Definitely an artist to watch.
